The third Postal Industry Science and Technology Award was officially announced recently. The rookie won the first prize and the third prize respectively with the “City Logistics Calculation System Based on Multi-modal and Causal AI” and the “Innovative Project of Automation Platform Serving Multiple Merchants: Cainiao Hangzhou Bonded Warehouse Automation Project”. This is also the third consecutive year that Rookie has won the first prize in the postal industry science and technology award.

It is reported that the Postal Industry Science and Technology Award, approved by the National Science and Technology Award Office, is hosted by the China Express Association and is mainly aimed at organizations or individuals who have made outstanding contributions in scientific and technological activities such as technology research and development, major projects, and policy research in the postal and express delivery fields. This award is also regarded by the industry as the “highest technology award in the Chinese postal industry”.?

In the previous two selections, Cainiao won the first prize of the Postal Industry Science and Technology Award with “Electronic Waybill: Important Digital Infrastructure of the Express Industry" and "Intelligent Terminal System and Application Based on Spatiotemporal Big Data”. In the third review of the Postal Industry Science and Technology Awards, Cainiao once again received recognition from logistics experts and the express delivery industry for its technological breakthroughs, innovative initiatives, and value creation in the field of digitalization.

The Hangzhou bonded warehouse automation project “Luozifeng”, created by Cainiao Logistics Technology, pioneered the automated full-process picking mode combining “goods to people” and “people to goods”. By using various logistics technology products such as the four-way shuttle intensive storage system, fully automated collection system, WMS warehouse management system, and WES warehouse control system, the production capacity and storage pallet positions have been greatly improved. The picking efficiency and capacity of the picking area have been increased, and the picking path has been effectively shortened through the automatic scheduling of goods by the multi-penetration system.?

Among them, the innovative module of the four-way shuttle storage system adopts the “top storage and bottom picking” mode, combining the advantages of “human” and “robot” to make warehouse logistics and fulfillment more flexible. It is tailored to the characteristics of Hangzhou bonded warehouse with a rich variety of imported products, multiple merchants, and long-tail goods. It effectively solves the complex category structure and provides a unique and economical solution for long tail products. It can support a large volume of orders while balancing costs and reducing labor intensity. The innovative model of Hangzhou Bonded Warehouse has been evaluated by the industry as a benchmark project for process optimization in the field of cross-border e-commerce logistics, and has been promoted in multiple projects within the industry.
