Recently, the “2023 China IoT Industry Leader Summit · Shanghai Station and the 2022 'IoT Star' China IoT Industry Annual List Awards Ceremony” was held. At this summit, Cainiao Logistics Technology was selected as a benchmark case for IoT applications in China in 2022 due to its innovative application of RFID technology.

As the third generation identification technology following barcodes and QR codes, RFID is regarded as one of the most promising information technologies of the 21st century. It is commonly used for inventory of goods in the supply chain, warehousing, and full traceability throughout the entire process. Due to limited technological breakthroughs and low accuracy in identification, RFID has not been widely deployed in practical applications.

Cainiao Logistics Technology has significantly improved the RFID recognition accuracy to 99.9% by optimizing chips, readers, and a complete set of identification algorithms, achieving global leadership. It is worth mentioning that, based on chip development, Cainiao's customized labels greatly improve the sensitivity of RFID identification, effectively solving the problem of difficult accuracy improvement in scenarios involving metal and liquid. The breakthrough of the above technology has created favorable conditions for the large-scale commercial use of RFID.

With technological and solution advantages, Cainiao's RFID tag shipments continue to rise. In the first quarter of this year, Cainiao announced that the shipment volume of RFID electronic tags has exceeded 100 million pieces, ranking first among logistics companies.
